In winemaking there is never a silver bullet. We got creative and minimized skin contact for some things and over extracted others. We wanted to learn lots. Thoughtful pick decisions and careful winemaking allowed us to navigate the impact of smoke.
Nostalgie de la boue (day luh BOO) is a french phrase with a loose translation that means a longing for simpler times. Directly translating to “of the mud,” de la boue is a reminder that it all comes from the ground beneath our feet. We work with amazing sites - because great wine comes from great soil. Our simple approach to winemaking yields complexity. Nature has already perfected what we are doing, we are just adding some muddied helping hands.
