Cristiano Garella was a rising star in the Alto Piedmonte when he met and befriended Giacomo Colombera whose Father owned some small plots in Bramatera and Lessona. Together they began working the vineyards organically and treat them sparingly with copper and sulfur when necessary. The vineyards here lie atop an extinct volcano and grow in porphyritic sandy soils that lend a very distinct minerality. The Nebbiolo in the Alto Piedmont is almost always blended with some Croatina and Vespolina and shows off a lighter more mineral driven side compared to its more famous counter parts.
