Beautifully expressive on the nose offering up scents of pear almond a complex base of salty soil tones apple blossoms and a hint vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is full-bodied crisp and balanced with a lovely core Zesty acids and a complex finish.

Seth Morgen Long is a young Oregon winemaker who focuses on site-driven Willamette Valley Chardonnay under the label, Morgen Long. After gaining a certification as Sommelier in 2009 and 2010, he created various opportunities to travel the world to discover the craft of winemaking from the inside out. He is obsessive about Chardonnay and values deep ecology, approaching winemaking with the view that thoughtful, ethical decisions in the vineyard and attention to details in the winery allow for wine to be both delicious as well as authentic and transparent. Bringing this level of integrity to the art and business of winemaking, Seth uses traditional methods of production learned in around the world to make Oregon Chardonnay that is superlative and as age-worthy as it is enjoyable on release. Morgen Long Chardonnay is produced at Lingua Franca, a winery in the Eola-Amity Hills. Every effort is made to work with farmers who value ecology, sustainability and at best, live on and love the land they farm. Seth’s vision of Oregon Chardonnay honors history, grape, time and place, from vine to bottle.

I worked my first harvests in the Willamette Valley during sommelier training in 2009 and 2010. I traveled for internships to Central Otago, New Zealand and the Santa Cruz Mountains, California, before returning to the Willamette Valley for a third harvest in 2011. In 2012, I worked harvest at Domaine de Montille in Meursault, Burgundy, France. I returned to Meursault in the fall of 2013, to focus 100% on Chardonnay. What I found in Meursault was the blueprint for my life’s great work in the Willamette Valley. I started with one vineyard partner in 2014 and produced three and a half barrels of Chardonnay. By 2022, fruit from eight vineyard partners in ten blocks yielded fifty barrels: 100% Willamette Valley Chardonnay. Sincerity and reverence guide me. Each fall, I begin again, grateful for every harvest. Each winter, I attend to the wines and refine. Each spring, I bottle. Each summer, I host. Morgen Long is named after my family who sacrificed and made good decisions so I could be. Gratitude, Seth Morgen Long
